ACINAR (Academy for International Agricultural Research) commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is being carried out by ATSAF e.V. on behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. In cooperation with professors from German universities and CGIAR++ centers, ATSAF e.V. has established the ATSAF Academy via the ACINAR-project.
The aim of the Academy is to involve PhD and MSc scholars from German and international universities in CGIAR++ research projects and in this way strengthen the links between universities and international, development-oriented agricultural research.
Currently, the ATSAF Academy offers two scholarship programs:
- A PhD Research Scholarship of EUR 1,500 per month for a period of 3 years (with the possibility for a 12-month extension) and a research grant of up to EUR 25,000.
- A MSc Career Exploration Scholarship (JST-Junior Scientists Tandems), where ATSAF financially supports MSc students over a period of 6 months with up to EUR 7,000.
Both PhD and MSc students benefit from multiple synergies such as the accompanying scientific support program with courses, seminars, and networking platforms.
